United Strength against Corona

Donations for Kindernothilfe to distribute hygiene products in particularly badly affected regions of the world.

The Stuttgart based software company Pragmatic Apps is now supporting Kindernothilfe in distributing hygiene products in particularly badly affected regions of Africa and Afghanistan. So that families can better protect themselves against the corona virus, disinfectants, soap, shampoo, protective masks and rubber gloves are given out. "For us, it goes without saying that we support particularly needy children and their families in the fight against the corona virus," says project manager Martin Dinkel. "Because we are only strong together."

Kindernothilfe is currently using part of the donations it has collected for an aid project in Afghanistan, which is particularly badly affected by the corona pandemic. The country torn by war and poverty has little to counter the virus and its consequences. There are hardly any functioning hospitals, too few staff and no money for protective clothing or ventilators. Since patient care is not guaranteed, the sick remain in their environment and infect other people there.

The situation for the poorest in society is dramatic. The prices for soap and disinfectants have increased enormously. Many families can no longer afford hygiene products and thus cannot protect themselves from the virus. For example, Kindernothilfe provides support in Kote Sangi, in the west of Kabul. Around 2,500 people, including 1,000 children, are currently being reached there with the aid measures. In addition, families are informed about discussions and information material about Covid-19. The children and their parents learn how important hand washing, sneezing and coughing etiquette and social distancing are. "It was important for us to support a specific project to ensure that help reaches the people directly," says Martin Dinkel.

The Stuttgart based company has been involved in various social areas since it was founded. For example, for each completed project, Pragmatic Apps donates the material for glasses to the organization “EinDollarGrille” on behalf of the client. Active environmental protection is also lived at Pragmatic Apps: Thanks to the partnership with the non-profit organization Eden Reforestation Projects, the Stuttgart based company regularly plants new trees in developing countries.

True to the African proverb: "Many little people in many small places who take many small steps can change the face of the world."
