High Goals are reached with many small Steps
Environmental protection and ecological work have been high on the agenda at Pragmatic Apps for many years. The company is expanding its ecological commitment with a new campaign. Because from now on, Pragmatic Apps will plant a tree for every new project on behalf of the customer. A suitable partner was found in the non-profit organization Eden Reforestation Projects to implement this project.
'Active environmental protection is a matter close to our hearts, with Eden we can make this dream come true with very specific measures,' explains Jonathan Teske from the Pragmatic Apps team.
Eden (edenprojects.org) works in developing countries to restore natural landscapes that have been destroyed by deforestation - together with local residents. The main focus is on villages and communities that suffer from extreme poverty caused by the deforestation and destruction of the country. Employing thousands of villagers, the organization provides them with the training and tools necessary to plant, grow, and protect millions of trees each year. Eden planted around 200 million young trees in 2018, including in Madagascar, Haiti, Nepal and Indonesia.
Environmentally conscious work is part of everyday life at Pragmatic Apps. Video conferences are preferred instead of business trips, and green electricity ensures a sustainable energy supply. A largely paperless correspondence, regardless of whether it is electronic offers or invoices, is standard. Otherwise, the use of recycled paper and the classic waste separation are a matter of course. The energy-saving mode is activated on all technical devices so that, for example, PCs and screens switch off automatically when they are not in use. The heating system runs in reduced operation outside of normal office hours and instead of an air conditioning system, external shutters were installed.
